Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Christy Noem has announced that America will continue the H-1B visa program under the Trump administration.
In an interview with Fox News, he claimed that the visa and green card process in the country has been made faster and safer than before.
Noem added that more people are now obtaining US citizenship than ever before. However, he stressed that H-1B visa holders must meet certain criteria, which is very important for every person entering the US.
Mentioning three conditions, Noem said that people coming to America must prove that:
- Visa holders are not supporters of terrorist organizations
- They are entering America for ‘legitimate reasons or purposes’
- Users are not supporting any organization that hates America.
Noam also sharply criticized the Biden administration, claiming that the former president allowed thousands of terrorists to enter the United States and abused the protective immigration program.
A tough stance on immigration was one of the key reasons Trump won his second term. Trump announced a tough policy against immigrants soon after taking office.
In mid-September, Trump announced a new one-time fee of $100,000 for employers applying for new H-1B visas.
