The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered a 10 percent reduction in flights from 40 of the nation’s busiest airports.

Flight tracker FlightAware reported that more than 1,000 flights were canceled nationwide on Friday alone.

Despite this reality, the good news is that 93 percent of flights left on time, according to the FAA.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has warned that flights could be limited by up to 20 percent if the shutdown lasts longer.

He told Fox News that if there is additional pressure, flights could be reduced by 15 percent or even 20 percent instead of 10 percent.
