
A horrific atrocity has occurred in the Middle Eastern country of Egypt. A man in a village in the country’s Menoufia Governorate killed his wife and infant son. The man did not stop with the murder. Before his arrest, he also posted photos of their bodies on Facebook. Gulf News reported, citing Arabic newspaper Al Ahram, that residents of Janara village in Tala district reported the crime to authorities after seeing the gruesome image online. Police units from the Menoufia Security Directorate quickly went to the suspect’s house and arrested him, where he is currently in custody for questioning. Egyptian security services immediately removed the image from various social media platforms. The bodies of the victims have been transferred to the hospital and are in the custody of the public prosecution. They will be allowed to be buried after the initial investigation is completed. Authorities have not yet provided any information about the suspect’s motive for killing his wife and their child, or why he decided to share the images of the victims on social media after the murder. The incident has shocked the local community. The case is under investigation and officials say more details about the tragedy in the village of Janara and the surrounding area are expected to emerge in the next few hours.
