Dangerous infection from black spots on onions, know the remedy

Onions are an essential part of our daily diet. Be it in salads or in cooking. However, sometimes when you peel an onion, you can see black spots or fungal spots.

These spots can be caused by a black fungus infection, which is harmful to health.

According to experts, the fungus is called Aspergillus niger, which grows naturally in the soil and infects onions from there.

Eating such contaminated onions can cause problems like allergies, headaches, stomach aches, vomiting or diarrhea.

Since onions usually grow underground, they are easily infected by the fungus present there. This fungus, called Aspergillus niger, appears as black or brown spots when you peel the outer skin of the onion. The spots are easily removed by rubbing it with your hands. And this is the main sign of an infected onion.

This black fungus is usually not fatal. However, it can be dangerous for those who have allergies, asthma or breathing problems. Therefore, it is better to avoid eating such onions.

If black spots appear on the onion, then one or two more layers should be peeled off before eating. This fungus can also grow on onions stored in the refrigerator. Therefore, it is better not to store onions for a long time.

Most importantly, peel and wash the onion before eating it and check for spots. Eating onions with black spots can cause headaches, stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhea. Therefore, it is wise to avoid these types of onions.
